Kai Von Glasow - Unkind [Mild Pitch]

Here we go with another varied EP that would work in a slew of mixes. The first track, Quit Quiting has a Dub Techno vibe with some very interesting textures coming off the reverberated samples. The lead cut, Unknind has an unhinged Dubstep quality, not to mention to the ever popular vocal stabs. Then the curve comes in place of the third track, Oh Boy, poppy indie vibe with some twinkling keys and guitar strums. Quite the debut, I'd say.

Romare - Meditations On Afrocentrism [Blackacre]

This is one of those not easily categorized EPs, which is all the better for it too. Lots of spoken samples, great drum programming, killer bass and wicked synths; it’s all here. The Blues (It Began In Africa) is my fav here but they all worth a listen. Pure class.

Vessel - Nylon Sunset [Left Blank]

Pretty nasty EP this. Heard Peverelist playing his remix on BoilerRoomTV and stumbled upon the right EP for once, ha. The whole EP is pretty varied with a nice slow house track in there for good measure. Highly recommended.

Aardvarck - Anti Concept: The Album [Eat Concrete]

Aardvarck will soon drop (it's available at some places already) a new album that really perked my ears up. I may have just been sleeping on his album work because the last stuff I grabbed of his was the Bloom series; a couple of those tracks have some new edits on the album too, score. It seems it is a collection of some of his most recent EPs but let that not deter you, these tracks are prefect for those space/weird sessions. A great body of music from start to finish.

Throwing Snow - Shadower [Sneaker Social Club]

I'm not quite sure how to classify this one but it's great none the less. Swing style garage/techno/something with a great attention to detail. Wicked Stuff.

Octo Octa - Let Me See You [100% Silk]

100% Silk release another wicked EP. This time from new guy/group Octo Octa. Retro vibes with a fresh look at the intersections of techno, house, dubstep, garage and just about everything else. Tip!

George Fitzgerald - Fernweh [Man Make]

After a couple of releases on Hotflush and killer EP on Aus Music, George Fitzgerald has done it again. Fernweh, the title track is good but the real gem here is Hearts. Chest-beating kicks and nice vocal work; then the drop with the bells, fuck yeah!

2562 - Fever [When In Doubt]

2562 aka A Made Up Sound delivers an LP with great depth with tracks ranging from house to dubstep and with stops along the way. Quality through and through. Highly recommended.

The second release from BNJMN is quite a different animal than the first. While the first was immediate and in your face, this is more introspective and relaxed. Not to mention the two awesome remixes from Lukid and Kelpe. Don't miss out on the Kelpe remix, it's a Boomkat exclusive.

WETF Radio Show - October 2009

A new mix, of sorts. This is WETF (whateverthefuck) Radio and my attempt at highlighting what I've been digging over the last few months. Beyond house, I've been listening to a lot of dubstep and wonky or experimental hip-hop.

The first portion is mostly house, with a left field lean. Then I move into the more experimental stuff, soul interlude, then on to the dubstep. Enjoy, hopefully I'll be doing these more often.

Charts are overrated. Tracklist when I figure out some of the older tracks I played.
